Founded in 1993, Open Society Foundation is one of the largest philanthropic organizations in the world. It was founded by the legendary George Soros 24 years ago. He has a firm belief that what is imperfect can be improved, and this motivated him to improve society across the globe through philanthropic work. Soros is recognized for his great success as a hedge fund manager, a career that saw him accumulate financial resources that would help him start the organization. Through Open Society, George Soros is estimated to have donated over $12 billion. His funding has mostly supported groups and individuals across the globe fighting for freedom of expression, transparency, responsible government, and societies that promote justice and equality. Those who face discrimination are highly considered in the donation. The organization has its office spread across 37 countries. The company has a large footprint worldwide and its budget this year was estimated to be approximately $930 million. Recently, George Soros donated at least $33 million within one year to any group that emboldened activists. This included the Ferguson Movements that hoped to spur civil action. His financial support to this groups is impeccable, for instance, it gave to rise of a combustible movements, which was significant to the extent that it changed a one-day activity in Missouri into a 24- hour-a-day national cause celebrate. The estimated annual expenditures of the Foundations are approximated to be $827 million. The organization was ranked as the second largest private philanthropy budget in the United States. The biggest stake of the expenditure is mostly channeled to defend human rights including the rights of women, drug users, sex workers, and the LGBTQ communities.

George Soros was born in Hungary in 1930. He lived through the Nazi regime of 1944 to 1945, which resulted in the killing of over half a million Hungarians Jews. His own Jewish family was able to survive after they successfully secured false identity papers. They also helped other Jews to conceal their backgrounds to avoid being killed. In 1947, he left Hungary for London where he worked as a part-time porter and as a nightclub waiter. There is a new plan for a new warehouse park in Nashville. This comes after Penattoni Development Co. paid $1.93 million for a piece of land totaling to 44 acres in Brick Church Pike. The new warehouse will be 600,000 square foot and construction for the project dubbed Skyline Distribution Park is expected to begin this month. It will consist of three buildings with completion expected in 2016.
According to Jeff Konieczny, a development manager for the company’s Southeast region, the industrial park will address a deficit of modern warehouse space. He also pointed out that the city is losing a number of its industrial base due to the redevelopment agendas. The benefits of the new facility will be enhanced visibility and access to the highways.
Alston Construction, an integrated contractor arm of Panattoni, will construct the three warehouses. The warehouses at Skyline Distribution Park will consist of 100,000, 125,000, and 375,000 square feet. The leasing agent is JLL with Bo Fulk, a vice president for the commercial real estate company, alongside Jimmy Armstead. According to Fulk, Skyline Distribution Park is excellently positioned to serve Nashville, Tennessee and the entire region.
Penattoni Development Co. is one of the most active players within Nashville, Tennessee with regional offices located in the city. Recently, the property developer completed a 1.1 million square foot of an Under Armour warehouse construction in Mt. Juliet. The company is also finishing the development of 98,000 square foot five-story building on Nashville Music Row. SESAC, the S. Performing rights organization, will be the anchor tenant.
